Anime Zero Skill Tree: Where to Spend Your Tokens

The skill tree is where most new players leave damage on the table. It is per weapon, which surprises people who expect an account-wide tree.

How the tree works

  • Per weapon: each weapon has its own tree. Tokens spent on King’s Gambit do not carry to Cursed King, which is one more reason to pick a main early.
  • Four branches: Attack, Crit, Defense and Speed, each a short chain of nodes.
  • Tokens: earned by leveling up and by using that weapon in runs.
  • Read the live node text before spending; LY* has changed node values in patches.

Crit branch values

The October 4 crit rework set the crit branch nodes to 3%, 6%, 10% and 15%, and crits now deal 200% base damage. Caps: 60% crit chance, 275% crit damage, 40% cooldown reduction. Points that push you over a cap are wasted.

Token order

  1. First Attack node. The best value for a single token on any weapon.
  2. Crit, node by node. Stop when crit chance from the tree, your title (Boss Slayer +2%) and gear (Sunglasses +11%) approaches 60%.
  3. Defense if you keep dying in Nightmare or the raid. A couple of points matter more than the last Crit node while you are learning.
  4. Speed for Infinite farming, where moving between packs is time.

The Indonesian creator Berlian Kecil’s beginner video spends early tokens on Defense and Crit; that works for solo Story while you are under-geared. Ashira’s max-damage build video covers both full-damage and crit setups.

Common mistakes

  • Spreading tokens across several weapons you will replace.
  • Ignoring the tree entirely. Many launch-week complaints about low damage came from players with unspent tokens.
  • Over-investing in crit chance and leaving crit damage at base.

Put it together with weapons, enchants and gear in the best build guide.
